The School Day

Salfords School Day

The day begins when our children come into school from 8.35am when the doors are opened by a member of staff.

KS1 and KS2 children can choose to enter via Toucan door, Parrot door or Kingfisher door. A member of staff is at each door ready to greet pupils and take any parent messages.

Reception children enter via their classroom doors and are met by their teachers.

Registration lasts from 8.50 - 9.00 and children complete morning tasks like maths of the day or spend some time looking back at their work from the day before.

Over the morning children have English and maths and then reading or phonics depending on their age and stage of learning.

Playtime is at 11.00am for 15 minutes and lunch starts at for Reception 12.00pm and 12.15pm for the KS1 children and 12.30pm for the KS2 children.

Afternoon lessons start at from 1pm for infants and 1.15pm for the juniors and cover the wider curriculum. These include Spanish, computing, music, art and design, design technology, history, geography, RE and PE.

On a Monday after lunch Mrs. Christer leads a certificate assembly and on a Friday Mrs Regnard leads a Headteacher's Star assembly at 2.30pm. KS2 also have a religious education themed assembly from Mr. Cooper on a Wednesday.

School finishes at 3.10pm every day and parents meet their children on the playground. The infant teachers take the children to their parents and wave them goodbye. In KS2, the older children often walk home or to meet their parents on the playground.
