Home School Link Worker
A Home School Link Worker offers support to children and their families. They support parents through the Positive Parenting approach as part of their role.

Our Home School Link Worker provides a safe, welcoming space for parents and carers to discuss any needs or worries. They offer a listening ear and practical support without judgment, recognising that asking for help can be the first step toward improving life. Their role includes one-to-one support for both parents and children, as well as assistance with personal, family, or financial difficulties. They can also help with completing forms, making applications, creating CVs, or handling difficult phone calls; tasks that can feel overwhelming, especially when anxiety is involved.
They can make referrals or signpost families to agencies and charities that provide additional support. If you would like advice or assistance, please contact the school office to arrange a time to speak with our Home School Link Worker.

- Mindworks Surrey which can be found via the link https://www.mindworks-surrey.org/
- Learning Space offer a Parent Empowerment workshop which runs on a 5 week rolling programme. If a course is full parents can go on the wait list for the next course. More information is available on their website: https://www.learningspace.org.uk/what-we-offer. There is also the Patchwork Gardens project if families are able to travel to the Dorking area.
- Learning Space supports young people aged 5 to 18 and their families who would benefit from a safe space to talk to improve their emotional well-being. Their team can offer between one and three solution focussed sessions. Anyone can refer in (including parents/carers) You are likely to be eligible for this service if you are registered with a GP in the Dorking or Redhill areas. The referral form can be found here.
- YMCA Children’s Wellbeing practitioners also work with children and families from the age of 4 years old. - School can arrange a consultation meeting with their Early Help advisor to discuss what resources are available in the area eg parenting support.
