In Year 1, the children will be taking part in a statutory Phonics Screening Check from the 10th to the 14th of June 2024. The phonics screening check is a check of your child’s phonics knowledge. It helps us confirm whether your child is making the progress expected in the national curriculum. If a pupil does not meet the expected standard at the end of year 1, a programme of support should be put in place and they will re-take in year 2.

Finally, we would like to thank you for the continued support you give as parents to our Year 1 children and Salfords Primary School. Our pupils try to show as many school values as possible on a daily basis because they aspire to be great role models for the other children!

If you ever have any queries or questions, please do not hesitate to contact either class teacher.

Thank you and 'Be your best'!
