Welcome to Year 3!

Class Teacher: Kerry Patel

Associate staff: Rebekah Roberts, Sam Bell and Rachel Western

In Year 3 this year, the children will be immersing themselves within our project lessons to answer our big questions.

  1. How can data help us understand the world around us? Push or Pull? What’s the greatest force?

  2. How have structures influenced our lives? How did people live in prehistoric Britain?

  3. Can I design and construct a product using my knowledge and understanding of the engineering process? Design and construct a bridge which spans a given gap and holds a given load.

  4. Can I create a piece of art based on a period of History? Create a portrait inspired by the Tudor era.

  5. Can I develop an understanding of the living world around me? TBC

  6. Can I explore cultures and celebrations from around the world? A travel show/guide to a European Country focussing on food, music and celebration.

P.E day is Wednesday.

Spelling test day is Monday.

Home Learning is daily reading with a signature or comment in the planner and spellings each week.

Children should read their school reading book 3 times before it is changed so that they benefit from repetition of new vocabulary and in practising skills such as prediction, retrieval and inference.

Finally, we would like to thank you for the continued support you give as parents to our Year 3 children and Salfords Primary School. Our pupils try to show as many school values as possible on a daily basis because they aspire to be great role models for the other children!

If you ever have any queries or questions, please do not hesitate to contact the class teacher via the planner or class email. You can also contact the office. We will endeavour to reply within 48 hours.
