Reception Admissions 2026-27

Choosing a school for your child is one of the most important decisions you will have to make and we warmly welcome tours of our school. Please see our Open Events page for dates, times, and how to arrange a tour.

The deadline to apply for a Reception place for September 2026 has now passed. Any applications submitted after the closing date must be made directly to Surrey County Council via the following link: https://www.surreycc.gov.uk/schools-and-learning/schools/admissions/primary-junior-and-infant/late-admissions

Offers were issued on National Offer Day. Parents and carers must accept or decline the offered place no later than Thursday 30 April 2026.

Key dates:

Thursday 16 April 2026 – National Offer Day

Thursday 30 April 2026 – Deadline to accept or decline your child’s place

Applications for Reception places must be made through Surrey County Council via the link below:

Surrey County Council Primary School Admissions

Places at Surrey primary schools will be offered on the basis of the preferences that are shown on the application form.  Parents will be asked to rank up to four preferences and these will be considered under an equal preference system.

Late Applications

If you submit your application without a good reason after the deadline, your application will be treated as late. This may affect the possibility of your child being offered a place at one of your preferred schools. Please click here if you are likely to be unable to make an on-time application.

Oversubscription criteria

School places will be offered to children at Salfords Primary School & Nursery using the criteria laid out in our Admissions Policy below.

Deferred entry to school

Parents and carers may choose to seek a place outside their child’s chronological (correct) year group. Full details of this are available in the School Admissions Policy, available at the link below.

Waiting Lists

If you have made an application for Reception - Year 6, you will need to contact Surrey Admissions directly for information on where your child is on the waiting list or if there are spaces in the year that you have applied for. Salfords Primary School does not hold this information.

Your Child’s Position on the Waiting List

Your child's position on a waiting list can go down as well as up.  This will occur if other children are added to the list because they have greater priority against the school's admission criteria.

To find out the position of your child on the Waiting List, you can call Surrey County Council on 0300 200 1004.
