GLF Schools

GLF Schools was founded in 2012 in order to enable the federation of Glyn School (an academy in 2011) and Danetree Junior School. Together, we began our journey to become a MAT of more than 1000 talented staff working with over 10,000 children in 40 schools across 5 regions in southern England.

Salfords Passes Ofsted with Flying Colours

The staff and children here at Salfords Primary School are celebrating after Ofsted inspectors rated our school Outstanding for Behaviour and Attitudes and our Early Years Provision, following our Inspection in February 2022.

We were rated Good overall, and the report spoke in glowing terms of both our children and staff, also praising the valuable contribution made to our school community by parental support. “The inclusive and nurturing environment at Salfords Primary School ensures that all children feel safe and secure. Children say that their teachers are the best thing about their school,” it said.

The report went on to say: “Behaviour in the school is exceptional. Children are highly motivated to learn. They understand and live by the school’s core values of kindness, respect, courage and excellence."

It was noted how well we rose to the challenges we faced due to Covid over the last two years: “Parents are very supportive of the school. They feel that remote education provision, which is still in place for any children who need to self-isolate, is excellent. They say their children are very happy at school, and one parent commented that their child was disappointed every Saturday when she realised it was not a school day!”

Our teachers were described as “positive about the support they receive” and the way our teaching has been adapted to the practical and emotional impact of the pandemic was praised. We also scored well on the issue of child safety, with safeguarding leaders described as “knowledgeable and determined… They ensure that staff are well trained to identify those who might be at risk of being harmed,” and our work to secure any necessary help was called “rigorous”.

The report also mentioned how support from our membership of GLF Schools, a Multi-Academy Trust of 41 primary and secondary schools, has benefitted our curriculum along with the contributions made by our governors who “know the school extremely well”.

“The last two years have tested us all in ways we could not have imagined, but the report’s findings prove that it has been a test that the entire school has passed with flying colours,” said the school’s Co-Headteachers Carrie Christer and Claire Regnard. “We are extremely proud.”
